Gov. Fernando’s medical emergency due to overfatigue, dehydration; now in stable condition
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando is now in stable condition after he suffered a medical emergency due to overfatigue and dehydration while speaking at an event in the province on Monday, Sept. 11.

Provincial executives said the governor is in good condition but still needs to rest after he suddenly felt unwell while delivering a speech in a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) event at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium and was rushed to a hospital.
Fernando, in a viral video posted on Facebook, was seen struggling to speak and motioning to his aides while feeling unwell. He was also seen trying to massage his head before calling for help.
This alarmed the audience who feared that the governor might have suffered a stroke.
Bulacan Vice Governor Castro immediately wrapped his arms around Fernando, grabbed the microphone, and called his aide who assisted the governor backstage.
The governor’s consultants blamed his grueling schedule for his overfatigue and dehydration.
He was immediately brought to the hospital and was attended to by his cardiologist, Dr. Berwyn Flores, who confirmed that the reason for the governor’s “irregular gestures at the event was exhaustion, overfatigue, and dehydration.”
Dr. Flores said the governor was able to carry out his public duties “without disruption” and is expected to come back in full swing after a few days of adequate rest.
It will be recalled that last Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 12, there was an unconfirmed report that Fernando was in the ICU of an undisclosed hospital after suffering a stroke on Monday evening.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan released a statement on Wednesday saying Fernando is in good condition and is now in the process of recovery.
In the past couple of weeks, Fernando has been actively conducting daily relief operations in various locations all throughout the province to ensure the welfare of his constituents affected by a series of typhoons and monsoon rains.
Fernando expressed deep gratitude for the good wishes, prayers, and messages of concern from his family, friends, fellow public servants, and Bulacan citizens.
His doctors advised him to undergo a thorough medical checkup.
